April 2008

A brand new Transmanche Ferries travel shop will officially open its doors to passengers on Thursday, 10th April 2008 in Dieppe, France.

You are invited to visit this brand new facility, which has been built to enhance the experience and comfort for passengers travelling through Dieppe.

Pierre Gehanne, CEO of Transmanche Ferries, and Christophe Santoni, General manager, will attend the official opening in Dieppe and look forward to meeting you.

They will present the latest developments and projects for both Transmanche Ferries and LD Lines, and will be available to answer any questions.

Transmanche Ferries will supply complementary tickets for your travel on 10th April. We recommend departing from the UK on the 0800 ferry crossing from Newhaven, arriving into Dieppe at 1300. We then recommend you return on the 1800 departure, arriving back in Newhaven at 2100.

We look forward to your reply, and very much hope you are available to attend this event.

Transport Champion Celebrates Newhaven’s Success

February 2008

Leading politician, Theresa Villiers visited Newhaven Port earlier this month to see for herself the remarkable progress achieved by LD Lines recently in developing passenger and freight services.  Ms Villiers, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, was particularly impressed with the stunning  ships, The Seven Sisters and the Cote d’Albatre and she was given a sneak preview of the new Haven Café at the terminal, due to open next month. Ferry services have been increased to four a day during the peak period (from 1st May) with three daily departures to Dieppe, and a new route linking Newhaven with Le Havre. With an emphasis on comfort and reliability these services are proving a big hit with tourists and freight companies alike.

The port of Newhaven is ideally placed to accept unaccompanied freight and this side of operations will expand further with the continued redevelopment of the port. It is a good system both economically and environmentally, as vehicles do not have to accompany the freight on board. It is hoped that Newhaven will become a leading south coast port for unaccompanied freight. Ms Villiers gave her full support to these developments and was delighted to see Newhaven taking its place as a successful centre for passenger and freight travel.
