Situated at the mouth of the River Seine in the heart of Normandy, less than 200 km from Paris, Le Havre is the major French port to the west of the country.
 
Le Havre benefits from direct motorways linking it to Rouen, Paris and the north of France, but also - via the famous “Normandy Bridge” - Honfleur, Deauville and the beaches of Normandy, Cotentin, and Mont Saint-Michel.

Access and services at the terminal
By car: take the A29 or A13 motorways and the A131. Follow the signs to the LD Lines Car Ferry.
By train: Le Havre train station is just a few minutes from the maritime terminal, either on foot or by taxi.

The city is on the UNESCO World Heritage list
Auguste Perret's Masterpiece.Totally destroyed during World War 2, the 133 hectares of Le Havre’s city centre were rebuilt between 1945 and 1964 under the supervision of Auguste Perret, one of the leading architects of the 20th century, called “the poet of reinforced concrete".The city’s inclusion in the Unesco World Heritage list in 2005 is an acknowledgement of the importance of the reconstruction, consiered unique in scale and coherence.Le Havre thus became the first 20th century urban landscape to be included on this prestigious list.A stroll through the city centre, which is close to the LD Lines terminal, has visitors admiring the diversity of colour and form in this decidedly modern city.Also close is the André Malraux Museum, where a magnificent collection of Impressionist paintings are on show.
