During the second weekend of January 2010, our LD Lines’ Bus was unveiled as the world’s first land-locked ferry!

Over 20,000 visitors to the France Show 2010 at Earls Courts enjoyed not only their first glimpse of our amazing, converted London Routemaster Bus, but also the first appearance of our promotional team. Captain John Inger led his team onstage in an all singing, all dancing blast through well known songs 'Sea Cruise' and 'We've got what it takes’!
On LD’s other, more conventional stand, visitors could sip champagne at the bar and receive 10% discount on any LD Lines bookings made during the show days.
The main LD Lines’ stand at the show was supported by the appearance of the bus as a 'teaser', giving a foretaste of the forthcoming routes the LD Lines’ bus will follow around Southern England and Northern France during the next 12 months. Throughout 2010 the Bus will be visiting a host of Sainsbury’s Stores as well as town centres, public parks, exhibitions and shows across the southern part of the UK to promote LD Lines ferry routes. Members of the public will be able to take advantage of the free entertainment provided by Captain John and his crew and to participate in activities such as pétanques, karaoke and face painting. There will be prizes and giveaways, including balloons, luggage labels, discounted crossings and even competitions to win free Channel crossings! If you missed us at the France show then we look forward to being able to welcome you on board when we visit your local area.
